Why is yawning contagious?

Ok, I have a question I won't to pose to my reader:

According to blog etiquette, does one respond to comments on your own blog or on the blog of the person who left the comment? For instance, Marissa asked what kind of chocolate I like. If I wanted to answer her, would I post it here or on the Voke family blog? (By the way, I like ALL kinds of chocolate or anything on, in or around chocolate). Also, Karen commented that she needs one of those I-am-adopting-so-I-am-becoming-clinically-insane-t shirts. Would I commiserate with her here on my blog or on the Our Family Expansion blog? Inquiring minds want to know...

I have often wondered the same thing, and will anxiously await some guidance on blogger etiquette :)

Great minds think alike...I have been wondering the same thing! Let's see what the "pros" think.
I would say just reply in your post, where the replier posted. Does that make sense?

By the way...how was the chocolate? I was just thinking about you as I just ate 2 bowls of cheerios. Don't know why. Probably because I have a total lack of self control and am eating like an emotional train wreck. :+)

I have replied to people's post on my own blog, and that made sense to me...at the time at least! :) (And some of my friends do not have their own blogs, so where else would I reply?)

I'll bring you ladies some Norwegian chocolate sometime. Helps with adoption-stress...:)

It does seem easier to respond here. Do people actually come back and look for a response? I guess maybe I should remember to do that on the comments I post...

In response to Marissa: I took your advice and put it in the freezer for a rainy (or sunny, or cloudy, or snowy...) day. Two bowls of cheerios could have been worse: could've been ice cream :)

In response to Karen:
Mmm... Norwegian chocolate. I bet that is delicious and a cure for whatever ails you!

In response to Jill: Well, we have a couple answers, but somehow it always comes around to food :)

I don't know where to respond because sometimes it is a comment from someone just passing through, if you know what I mean, and they would probably not see it on your blog. It does come into email though, so maybe just an email back?

By the way, I like dark chocolate.

That's ok. I think I stole it from someone too :-)

Ya, let me know the answer to that one as I commented on Marissa's blog to her....was that right?

I don't know... All these comments and it is still undecided. However, I believe that the "comment on the original blog" has outweighed the "comment on the commenter's blog". I need to start checking back at the comments I have left.

Hey, I think I need to change 'kikstra' to 'betsy'- anyhow, I think Karen definitely needs to bring some of that 'adoption relief' chocolate to the picnic! On the subject though, I obviously have a hard time remembering to look back at responses to my comments- it took me 9 days this time!
